Default 3000+ Cruisers On Lido Deck Picture

Next time someone post about saving seats by the pool on a full day at sea...show them this picture...every year on our Capital Jazz SuperCruise we have a huge School Daze Block Party at 1pm on the lido deck on our first full day at sea...This was taken last year when we had George Clinton (legendary old school funk master) perform..every birth was full which means about 3450 guests on the Carnival Freedom..I've also included pics of a line dancing class in the atrium,(for my buddy CQ, ) a "small" Salsa exercise class on the upper deck and a dance team performance from Howard University..every year we have large groups of Smooth Jazz fans from England, Scotland, Australia, New Zealand and Japan join us, which makes it a true international cruise
Go to Capital Jazz Cruises | Official Site of the SuperCruise | The Jazz Cruise With Soul!
select SuperCruise VI, 2012 Days 1-4
pic # 85 - Block Party, pic #21- line dance class in the atrium, pi c-#37 Salsa class on
sun deck early am on full day at sea, pic #103- Howard University Step Afrika Dance Troupe (they were awesome!!! )..
Ask Paul &Dave who have been on the Legends of Rock charters, music cruises are a very difference experience

CQ.....you are sooooooooo ...the trick is moving in the same direction at the same time (Snoozeman..can you please post pic #90 out of that same group)
When Frankie Beverly & Maze use to close out the Essence Festival every year at the New Orleans SuperDome, 50,000 fans all dress in White would do the Electric Slide in unison...CA you will have plenty of room to dance unless you go left instead of right

I am on the left hand side of the picture on the upper deck on the railing...yes there are alot of cruisers but it is so much fun and there is a protocal...unlike a regular cruise, most Jazz fans in this picture have been on this cruise multiple times so we are like a family and tend to gather in the same general area for these lido deck parties..when George Clinton started singing, even the Captain of the Freedom joined in to dance...the performance is on the big screen so even those at the very top of the ship can see and hear everything....it's even more fun at night for our 80's Night Theme night...This year it's going to be Charlie Wilson so it should be incredible

The concerts are piped live directly into our cabins...the cabin attendants love to have the tv on while they are preparing our cabins...on embarkation day, when we meet our cabin attendant team and our MDR crew, I make a point of finding out which artists onboard they like...on the next to last night I surprise them with a signed CD of the artist made out to them...we prepay tips so the signed CD is lagniappe

That picture does not capture the cruisers who were in the pool, on the sides & behind the big screens and in the covered areas on both sides

It was a great day with great music with great fellow smooth jazz cruisers...I may never do a regular cruise again...I would be bored

Every line dance class I attended either on ship or land there is always a few that don't know the dance and are moving in the opposite direction resulting in bumping into me or stepping on my toes. And those few seem to always be next, in front or in back of me..

CQ...you are so right about that my friend who lives in Detroit is an excellent partner dancer so 4 years ago when we started going on this charter, on the night before our cruise in our hotel, she and I would practice 2 partner dance.s..try it out at the pre cruise party to work out our timing and when she is satisfied, we would do only those 2 dances on the charter, so not to embarass her....however when it comes to today's popular line dances, thanks to my neighbor's 5 teenage daughters, I'm on the case.....

My experience on the charter is that those folks whom you described wind up on the outer circle after the first day on the lido deck or attend remedial class at the morning dance classes before they try it again...everyone wants to look because they are on the big screen on the lido deck which is broadcast all over and there are about 6 official photographers taking pictures for the website....however, everyone is having fun and in the spirit of family...

In preparation for 80's theme night..this weekend I am breaking out my old Soul Train tapes to practice my Break Dancing, The Worm, The Running Man, Cabbage Patch, Pee Wee Herman, Roger Rabbit.and The Moon Walk ...I figure if I can do each dance move for 40 seconds, the younger folks will lnot at me too much

Precruise hotel dance practice is cool Good for you!!

Nobody better be bumping into me on the dance floor I like my space. the shoes I wear if I step on someone's toes it will be VERY painful ......Just sayin...

My Afro is packed and ready for 70's Disco night next week....

Some well placed razor blades extending from the top and side of your shoes should keep folks far away from you

Your Afro Wig should be blue like Marge Simpson so you can stand out in the crowd...you might look at the pictures from our 70's night party on the website for some suggestions...

You do know there will be at least one John Travolta Saturday Night Fever white suit wearing man who will want to dance with you ...you might want to watch the movie before you leave home
