Brief Liberty Review
Liberty review
Just a short review of my cruise
Our flight was delayed due to mechanical issue something you really don’t want to hear. Ex-Chicago Bulls player Denise Rodman was on our flight and was more than happy to talk with the people on the plane.
I absolutely loved this cruise for a few reasons, first off the ship was very clean and the crew very friendly.
Boarding was quick, less than 45 minutes from arrival to Lido.
Our cabin steward Alfonso was from Honduras and was going to be going home after this cruise for two months so he was extra happy, he did a great job at keeping the cabin clean and well stocked with washcloths and ice…two things we seemed to go through.
This was my fifth cruise and by far the best group of cruisers we’ve sailed with.
The standouts for me were;
The Piano bar where many of us gathered to sing along to our favorite songs
There was no shortage of live music except for the lido deck; even the main show’s had the live band.
The ALCHMEY Bar it’s seemed to be the same people ever night and the bartenders were like life long friends …..Not to mention the really good cocktails!
No chair hog…always a spot to soak up the sun.
The comedians…We watched four different show, some pretty dirty but funny never the less.
Rock n Roll trivia was fun…I didn’t win.
People were very dressed up the first elegant night in gowns and yes even tuxedos but a little toned down on the second one.
Casino…won $60.00
There was always something going on…. Deck party , Disco, Atrium .
MDR service was very good to my surprise….last cruise it was just BAD. Cornelius our waiter always addressed us by name and was on top of his game for sure.
Food was good for the most part some hits some misses. Buffett food was pretty good although I didn’t eat the eggs and bacon as I kind of knew how they would taste. Omelet station very good, french toast excellent, fish& chips good, very accommodating to special needs diets.
Other thoughts….
Diamond Steakhouse was only ok nothing special, I think I was expecting too much but we enjoyed it.
Guy’s burgers ….pretty good
Main show ….not very good however we only did the one but it was enough.
Ports
Half Moon Cay…we had a cabana; it was nice to have a placeto store our belongings. Tenders were quick and painless.
ST Thomas ….we did some shopping and then took a tour of the island…a nice day.
Puerto Rico…. Did the forts and went to old and new San Juan. Love old San Juan and all the beautiful architecture …. Watched a few minutes of the movie 22 jump street being taped (not sure if it’s the actual
name)
Gran Turk…. Total beach day.
To sum it all up
I was on a Caribbean cruise what’s not to like!

I did not see your review over here before I thought you would have posted it on the Carnival board.

I'll be looking at all the Royal options.....although my cruise was good I'm taking a break fom Carnival as they just don't fit my needs any longer and I need to see what the other lines have to offer.
I must say the people on this cruise were the best people I've ever meet and that's part of why the cruise was so good.

Have you thought about doing a theme cruise? You might check out theme cruise finders and see if one might peak your interest

I have seen a few that sound like fun.....I"ll have to keep that in mind.
I wish they would have an AEROSMITH cruise......that I would be on... Me and Steven Tyler on a ship in the middle of the ocean....oh the thought going through my mind

I'll be on the look out on your behalf...you might go to the SixthMan website and sign up for their newsletter alert...they seem to have the "corner" on those types of music charter cruises...I'm sure Paul Motter will alert you also since he does the Legends of Rock full charters
Put aside your $$$$ now, figure twice what you pay fir a normal cruise...take CQ with you to keep you out of trouble with Steven Tyler

If they talked to Kid Rock and find out how much he makes from his, they would do one in a heartbeat
The challenge with talking CQ, is you would never get her out of the Salsa Club onboard

Carnival Freedom also has the fish and chips. I remember loving the seafood bouillabaisse. Sounds like we hit some of the same stops. My cruise ended on 12/21/13 and included Grand Turk and St. Thomas. I love how close the ship gets to the beach in Grand Turk. Just jump off the ship and right on to the beach.
