Default Marketing 101

If I were the CEO of MSC Cruise Lines, and wanted to get the most out of my promotion budget to let the industry be aware that I have positioned the MSC Divina year round out of Miami to the Caribbean, I would

1) purchase a 30 second spot between the 1st& 2nd Quarter of the Super Bowl...Since it's in New York (technically New Jersey ) being played in an outdoor stadium in Feb it will attract record ratings as much for the teams as for the weather

2) sign an exclusive deal with Sports Illustrated & Victoria Secret that they will have at least one each of their swimsuit edition models on one sailing every month on the Divina for the next 12 months

3) in the 30 second.Super Bowl spot, show the models onboard the Divina. sailing in the Caribbean...would not need to have any dialogue, just. MSC website and phone number
and a brillant tagline

Market research has verified that bookings from cold weather States surge to Hawaii, when the NFL Pro Bowl or PGA Hawaiian Open is on tv

My question, is what would be your tagline

Good one

However, there is some logic...the SuperBowl is the one sporting event on tv that wives /girlfriends will watch with husbands/boyfriends...more for the commercials then the game I.would suspect...it's usually the female in the relationship that wants to go on a cruise and convince the male to go...this would help her cause alot

With all the different theme cruises out there today whey not do a Victoria Secret theme cruise? Have most of VS ladies onboard and they can do some runway modeling just like the VS show which aired a few weeks ago....

I think the cruisers on that cruise would mostly be Male!!

CQ....you never want to put all your models on one sailing ... by spreading the models out over 12 months MSC would increase it's cabin bookings 12X...I discovered there is a website that features good looking young men who love to do all the Latin Dances combine them with the Chippendale dancers and all the female cruisers would be happy

When I was a kid my Parents use to give me my allowance 1/3 cash, 1/3 college savings 1/3 mounds bars...I thought I would be happy with an all mounds bars payment..I discovered too much of a good thing actually takes the desire away same would apply in MSC's case

The problem with marketing MSC is that no matter what you still are stuck with MSC.
