Morning Mates, it's a beautiful sunny day here, if slightly freezing, but is IS January!
James has an appointment at the hospital today as a follow up to the scary tests they made him have last week. Hopefully we will get to the bottom of it all. I am still waiting for my cortisone shot to be re-scheduled and to be able to start physio for my back...
Have a good day all!
It has warmed up to a tropical +22F but with the fog it seems colder than -10 outside. I guess it's like heat. If it's dry it's more tolerable.
I have been nursing a bad back. Went to the orthopedic doctor yesterday (postponed from Monday because of the cold) and, on the same day, had a CT scan and a cortisone shot. What I had self-diagnosed as a bad hip was wrong and I have a herniated lumbar disc. The cortisone shot greatly helped. Betty said I slept like a baby and I didn't yell in my sleep when I turned over. I have second shot next week and then some physical therapy after that. My fishing trip for this weekend has been cancelled because of doctor's and Betty's orders.
I wonder how they diagnosed back problems before the advent of the MRI? I can't have an MRI because of my pacemaker and all of the orthopedic doctors say: "We really can't be sure without an MRI." Oh well, I'm feeling better.
Nothing much on the agenda. My granddaughter has a weekend gymnastics meet this weekend so we'll be watching our grandson and go to final round on Sunday. It's amazing how much my granddaughter has learned in just four months of gymnastics training. Her routine is pretty good and I am amazed at how flexible and graceful she is. A year ago she was flexible but not too graceful.
Donna: I hope you get some relief from your back problems and that James' tests are all negative.
I hope everyone has a great, safe weekend.

All is well here and the temps are in the high seventies.
I hope that all of you who are ill get better quickly.

Well, it was even warmer today in Virginia Beach; in the mid fifties. A beautiful day to go grocery shopping after I had cleaned the house. (my usual routine on Friday if I am not out of town). Rollerdonna, hope that James is feeling better and the same goes for Mike. Let us all think about the water situation in West Virginia and hope that it is resolved, the sooner the better. One really doesn't appreciate "basic necessities so life" until they are compromised. May all my fellow cruisemates have a great weekend and for those about to depart on a cruise, may you have smooth sailing ahead.
