Default Good Morning from the Frigid North

Morning Mates, from the frigid north. From yesterday's mild rain to today's iced over puddles, it is not pleasant out there.
This morning we are headed to the pool for indoor deck walking, where it is warm and tropical for an hour and we can just pretend we are in a warmer climate! Must keep up our exercise, even if it's too dangerous to walk outdoors. Sadly, Griffin can't come with us...

Good morning Donna and all to follow. Temps are in the 50s F here and it is foggy. Supposed to get below freezing and snowing tomorrow and Wednesday but.... we won't be here!

We received 5-6 inches of snow overnight and now the wind is starting to blow it around. Virtual white out conditions with dropping temperatures sending us back into the deep freeze. It took 2 hours for my daughter to get to work . So glad I'm retired and don't have to face that any more. Enjoy your day everyone.

Good morning everyone: Is it Thursday yet?

Well, I set the daily snow blowing record. I think I did my driveway about seven times. The last was at 12:30 a.m. today. It was the worst "blizzard" I've seen in the 25 years we've lived here. The four inches of snow followed by the 50+ MPH winds, that blew all day made it tough. The drifts I blew out at 12:30 were about three feet high and almost rock hard. That was one aerobic workout. I'm glad I did it then when it was only -2F, instead of this morning when it was -24F.

The grandkids are with us. Schools were cancelled because of the temperatures. I'm not sure what we'll get up to today but I guess I'll have to start getting stuff together for our trip to the Seattle area and then on to Maui. Almost a month away from the tundra will be a good thing.

I hope everyone stays warm and has a great week.

Take care,

Good morning. Well, some areas here had about four drops of rain. It made something for the weather mavens to talk about.

Sharon, I started the laundry, too.

Mike, Los Angeles has outdone Honolulu making it the hottest place in the nation. That's not said proudly, though. The lack of rain here is critical.

Not much on my agenda this week . . .

Have a good day, all.

It is currently 4 degrees F with 20 MPH winds. Yes, it is cold, but nothing like what MikeM has. I do not like taking the dogs out (well, they go out and I stay in the garage and watch - and, again, they don't want to go out most of the time). Lots of cancellations and that sort of fun until about Wednesday when we are to improve.

Not much happening. DH working, over when he can (all of last week and this morning by chance but probably not rest of this week). I am so ready for summer, even though I can handle cool weather better than hot weather. Note that I said "cool" and not "cold"!

Hope all stay warm and safe in the weather. Thinking of all of you!

Good evening from Virginia Beach where the day started out to be beautiful; in the mid fifties. As this evening is going the temperature is "dropping like a rocket". They are predicting snow, either tonight or tomorrow throughout the Tidewater area of Virginia. Snow literally "cripples this area" because there is not enough snow removal equipment. It really doesn't pay to invest in it since snow is a rarity here. The whole weather pattern is changing with more extremes of hot and cold. For those in areas where this is a lot of snow, please use caution and good judgement and hopefully, you have stocked up on canned goods in case the power goes out.
