Actually, I book all our cruises and my wife is always ready to go on one.

I would consider something in 2015. We have enough trips booked for this year.

Don't mean to sound redundant, but this is why I posted earlier that I always tell my group leaders not to give any choices because you'll get as many requests as there are people interested in going. And no matter which one you choose, you'll not satisfy everyone. You simply cannot get everyone to agree on a date, let alone a ship, length, departure port, or an itinerary. Can't tell you how many times I've done this with groups and it's always funny when the group leader later comes back and tells me they wished they would have listen to me in the first place. They get to the point they're ready to tear their hair out because they can't get anyone to agree on anything.

Bottom line is with groups it usually becomes more about the group itself and less about the actual ships or the ports. When presented with one option, people will simply decide whether or not they want to get together to meet people who have something in common and enjoy the camaraderie.

Sorry Laura. I doubt people will do the Thanksgiving one. My family won't cruise and they would kill me if I left them to cruise.

I agree, before Thanksgiving is not a good time, plus the rates are higher. After Thanksgiving is usually very good and definitely cheaper.

We have over 40,000 cabins in group space available every year on various ships as well, but it all depends on what people are looking for and how much they want to spend. Personally, I also would not want the Pride or the Glory. Been on them both and neither are all that great nor do they have alot of nice amenities. I'd much rather spend a bit more money and get something nicer or newer. But that's just me - I lean more towards Holland and Celebrity because I enjoy great food and wonderful ships, so for us, price is not as important as the ship. I'm sure for others price is the deciding factor. And hence we have the usual dilemma - how do we select one that will satisfy everyone?

After hosting a number of Cruisemates cruises I will say that you will NEVER make everyone happy.

However, I have found that once people book the cruise they are excited as heck about it.

Once you actually board the ship then is when the fun truly begins. I have met and "re-met" many wonderful folks on the Cruisemates cruises. They are probably the most enjoyable of all the cruises I've taken.

Take care,
Mike

I'm just waiting to see what cruises you come up with before making a decision. Anything 7 days or longer...cheaper the better (as airfare is a killer here in Milwaukee....)

I was not trying to sell this to anyone. I just tossed out some ideas. I know that Thanksgiving is not usually a good time for most, for me it is the same as any other day. Usually prices are higher for Thanksgiving but I thought those prices were pretty darn good for a holiday week so I put it out there. I wouldn't be able to do the Thanksgiving one myself because it would be too expensive for me. The single supplement then the air from Tampa to Miami would put it out of reach anyway.

Cruznut> They have motorcoach transportation from most points in Florida (and all major Eastern Seaboard cities) directly to the pier... for WAY less than airfare, and way less hassle, too.

I might cruise this coming winter out of NYC, and plan to definitely use this service, as the airport security in NYC is ridiculous. The bus ride may be longer, but I will save hours in total travel time, and no $$$ taxi to the pier with the luggage, as the bus stops right next to the ship.

The motor coach takes about 10 hours from here to Miami. It arrives too late to get to the ship. I have researched this a lot. That means I would have to travel the day before then stay at a hotel over night. Air fare is about $128 and there is a flight at 8:00 AM it lands in Miami at about 9:00 AM. Then I can get on Carnival Transportation or a taxi right to the pier. Cheaper than driving too when I add up gas and parking for the week.
I have seen that "Cruise Connection" bus going through here. I researched that for my cruise on the Dream from Port Canaveral. I was surprised to learn that it does not do any other ports than Ft Lauderdale and Miami.

Sandra has been asking for months about whether Cruisemates will have another cruise. We did one years ago but I cannot recall which one it was. I do recall it was from Galveston though.
