Any Problems getting from the airport to the cruise terminal?

We just cruised out of San Juan in May and had no problems. We always fly in a day early. We went from the airport to a hotel and then onto the cruise port the next day. We used taxis for all transport. They were very reasonable.

Thank you for the info.

Since I live in Florida and it's not a long flight to San Juan, I am thinking of flying in the day of the cruise.
I used to fly in a day or two before the cruise but since we have moved to Florida I have been driving to our cruises.

I have never cruised out of San Juan, so I will have to give the matter some thought.

San Juan is definitely one of those places that's very easy to get from the airport to the cruise pier.

When you walk out after getting your luggage, there will be a line set up for taxis. Currently, it's $19 for a one-way taxi plus $1 per baggage - prices are regulated, so there's no overcharging.

We will always ask others in line if someone is going to the pier and have always been able to share a taxi van, thereby cutting the cost of the taxi in half.

Since almost all of the cruise leave late afternoon to evening, we always fly in the day of the cruise and have never had any problems. We check onboard and it still leaves us plenty of time to visit my favorite handmade cigar shop and do some shopping in Old Town.

Hope this helps.

Pete

I've planned a few weddings in St. Thomas and it's a great place to have one, especially when doing it while on a cruise! We'll hope and pray she'll be able to go - you guys are more than due for a nice vacation.

It would be fun for sure. But I also have my daughter's wedding in June. Also we have a trip to Hawaii booked for April. We will be celebrating our 20th. anniversary.

As far as cruising, Mrs. TM was saying that she would probably not cruise for some time. Since this wedding invitation came along she is going to see if we can make it.

Manuel,

I love cruising out of San Juan....you get to go to smaller islands that an Eastern cruise doesn't have time to get to. As for getting to the cruise port, like Pete said, it is very easy and about a half an hour ride. If you get there early enough, you can always get onboard, drop off your carry on's and explore Old San Juan... The only negative is the air fare, but coming from Florida shouldn't be as bad....hope you think about it.

Thank for your response.

We did put our deposit in and booked a nice balcony cabin. Now I hope that we don't have to cancel.
