Default Mississippi Pot Roast, for the crock pot

3 lb chuck roast, 2 tbsp olive oil, salt and pepper to taste, 1 packet ranch dressing (if you have a jar of the powder it is 2 tbls), 1 packet Au Jus mix,
1/2 cup butter and 8 Pepperoncini peppers (I use slices and not that many)

Heat a large pan on high and when hot add the olive oil, dry both sides of the meat, salt and pepper, add meat to the pan and sear that side about 2 - 3 minutes then flip to sear the other side. Then take out of pan an d place in crock pot, sprinkle packets of ranch and Au Jus over the roast, place the stick of butter on top and then add the peppers. Cover the pot and set for 8 hours .
Once done take two forks and shred the meat discarding any large fatty pieces. Serve over mashed potatoes or rice.

So easy and so good.

Sounds good but I never heard of "Au Jus" mix?
