Default Hello Thursday

Morning Mates, the sun is out but boy is it cold! Crazy winter so far, snow, no snow, rainy and mild followed by deep freeze. Mother Nature needs to get her act together!

I am FINALLY going to make it back to aquafitness this morning. My body is crying for the exercise. Can't wait. Following that, I'm returning to the seniors choir group, haven't been there since our performances before Christmas!

Wishing you all a great day and Judy I hope you are feeling better today!

Good morning Gang

I hope that Judy is feeling better and that everyone is feeling fine.

Today, I'm getting a haircut and Mrs. TM is getting her hair done. We also are packing for our trip to Texas. It's a short trip we fly out Friday and come back on Monday.

May you all have a great day.

TM

Today is the International Holocaust Remembrance Day and my wife and I are going to attend a program in which a Holocaust survivor will be speaking .Both of my parents had siblings who died in concentration camps .

LF, the memories of the Holocaust have to be kept alive and the young generations need to be taught about those atrocities.
We have make sure that such a thing does not happen again.

LF, we, too, were fortunate to hear a speaker who spent his younger years in a concentration camp. He and his brother were the only two to survive from his family, including his first wife. He was at Dachau and we listened to him at the convent next to the Dachau concentration camp in 2012. He has since passed away, but his book has just been translated to English and I purchased the Kindle version about two weeks ago. Cannot wait to start reading it.

Also, when at the Washington DC Holocaust Museum, we found a musical instrument that belonged to a Jewish band member who survived the Holocaust (mostly because he was a musician). That Jewish band member had the same last name as my maiden name - not a usual name!! I have a little information from the museum and also asked about the name when we were in Germany to locals near the area my father was from. However, we were told, it depended on the city he was from if the people there were Jewish, Protestant, Catholic or something else.

We are visiting Germany, again, this summer. We will be very close to the town my paternal grandfather was baptized (he was Lutheran) and we hope to get the chance to go and view the paperwork from his baptism. I have a cousin who has seen it, so I know the town and the church location. It depends, though, if we can get the time as we are traveling with a group. I am really hoping that we get this chance!
