Costa Mederranea

Hello!
I am new to this board and would like to hear from anyone that has experienced the Costa Mederranea. My husband and I are trying decide on a cruise vacation for this April. We are looking at the Eastern cruise.
1. What do you think of the ship (balconies) and quality of the ship?
2. What do you think of the ports? And the excursions?
Any information would be appreciated.

Hi, I just got back from the Mediterranea Western Cari. sailing. The food was so disappionting. The filet mignon looked like Salisbury steak, the lobster was overdone and the rest of the items were simply not tasty. The ship is marvelous and we booked a suite which was definitely worth it. The ship was so tremendous and I did feel lost at times. Don't bother with the excursions, you can take a cab and do most of it yourself which is really not hard. Most of the places we breezed through in an hour. Many people were disappointed by the places and were mad they paid the money for them.

are the savings woth it if u book the excursions, or go to the areas on your own, always looking to save a buck, how did u like the suite, is it worth the extra bucks, is it roomier then the standard cabins. your input would be appreciated, sailing 10 apr, celebrating 20 anniversary.
