Default Passport and/or visa info

Costa told me when I called and inquired that we do not need a visa for Egypt or Turkey as long as we take an excursion with them. We are planning to anyway, but I was wondering if anyone else can comment from direct experience? We are also going to Italy (passport only), Greece and Cyprus (passports suffice)

Italy, Greece and Cyprus: NO VISA required if traveling under a US Passport

Turkey and Egypt: YES, VISAS are required.

They will most probably issue you a single-entry visa at the port if Costa are taking care of your excursions.

The Captain and the Mrs hold both US and EU passports, those parts of the world we usually travel under our EU passports.

I know this is probably a stupid question, but what is the easiest way to get visas and how much do they usually cost? I like the idea of the EU passport--how do you get one of those--? Same office as US passport, or do you have to mail away for it? Thank you so much for your reply! Previously, when we sailed in South America, they sent us (not Costa, but Cunard) paperwork to fill out for temporary visas--for Brazil-- but Costa did not tell us anything until I inquired.

Kitt,
You have to be a citizen of the United States and an EU member country to have an EU passport in addition to your US passport.
You cannot just apply for it!

After I posted I realized that you would need to be a citizen of a European Union country....
Thanks!
