What formula is used by Princess to divide up its built-in $10.00 a day per person gratuity charge? I know that the room steward gets a straight up $3.50 each day/each person but how is the other $6.50 divided up? Is there a "pecking order"? Do waiters get a bigger percentage than assistant/junior waiters? What other dining personnel get part of the tip and how much? If a person opts not to go with personal choice and chooses assigned seating, is it a better deal (for the staff) to take care of tipping personally and ask that the automatic $10 per day not be charged to the cabin?
