Does anyone know if cruise companies do more intensive hiring at a certain time of the year (like stores do mid-year for the Christmas holidays), or if it's a constant year-round sort of thing? Or should i just perhaps offer to sleep with the HR manager? Joking, i'm joking! Perseverance is hard to maintain!
Chrissy: I like your style! From friends of mine on Princess and HAL, crewmembers are coming and going all the time so hiring is year-round. A few musicians and cruise staff I know had only a few days notice before they had to meet the ship. So, you never know - keep plugging along - send professional "reminder" notes to the HR director saying you're still available for an interview at THEIR convenience.
You never know when any given ship might need someone immediately - so keep your bags packed!
It helps if you personally know someone on a specific ship, too. I am friends with 2 RCCL crew members and that is how both got their jobs, through knowing other crew members.
