Which of the companies require IMO(STCW95) before getting on
Or better said: Which of the companies require the new crew members who have just been given a job oboard to take the IMO courses in their countries of origin (for a certain fee, of course)? Or is this just a strategy of the recruiting agencies to make some extra money? I know that most of the major lines offer the courses on board.

None. I've never worked for or heard of any cruise line that will make it's crew have these certifications before you get on board. Once you get the job, and get to your ship, they will then put you through several training courses. They'll teach you what they need you to know. You don't need any of that other stuff prior to getting there unless you're an officer, and officer's go to school for years to work on ships.
