I'm leaving in January to work for CCL's Paradise as a Casino Slot Host. Has anyone done the job before?
I have heard rumors that staff get dicounts on cruises for family? is this true or just a rumor?
Also does anyone have advise on the ports of Catalina island and ensanada Mexico?
Thanks for you help guys!
Hey Kali- yes the cruiselines do give you and your family discounts usually after you finish a contract or more. As far as the ports- Ensenada- to say the least is NOT at all like Cancun. It is kind of a sub-par port but it's great to see the Mexican culture and experience the food. It also has REALLY cheap internet shops so you can keep in touch with family and friends. It has a McDonalds there too which is always a plus ( especially since food on the ship is kind of bad). There's some attractions you can go to such as a Wine Vineyard and the Bofadora (sp?) which is this big water splash that comes up along the cliff. As far as Catalina Island- you take a small tender boat to get there. It's really nice- small- but nice. I recommend getting a golf cart and just drive around the island. It's the better of the two ports. I'm assuming you're leaving out of LA? Of course , LA you'll have fun just seeing the sites there- goto Venice Beach, Hollywood, etc. One thing taxis will cost you, so bring lots of new friends along with you! Best of Luck!
