Default Passport???

I have a quick question...
I read somewhere that you need to be in possession of a passport for more than 12 months in order to be considered for a job...i've had mine for about 4 months...is this a sticking point that will hamper my job search? Thanks

I have a job with carnival and the question was never brought up. I need to have a passport but as far as I know as long as it doesn't expire while your away it doesn't matter when you got it. I am Canadian though so maybe there are diffrent rules for diffrent countries?

I would still apply worse there going to say is wait a few months right?

Good luck

Maybe you misread - they usually like it to be valid for a at least year AFTER you get the job - that way it doesn't expire while you are on the ship. If you're not 'legal' to work on the ship, especially visas, they won't let you stay on.

"Shipboard crew members must be in possession of a passport valid for a minimum of twelve (12) months. " I guess this could read both ways...but i think the way CRUZ is thinking is correct...they just don't want it to expire...thanks for the info...

Cruz has it correct. The passport must be valid for at least a year from the time of employment.
