I just found out that I have an upcoming interview with a cruise line hiring partner. After reviewing my resume, they decided to interview by phone before scheduling a face to face interview. The position is with Starboard (formerly greyhound).
Any ideas about what kind of questions they might ask? I'm trying to get as much practice in as possible before the interview (in a few days), so anything you can recommend would be highly appreciated.
Every cruise ships wants to know your availability foremost. Are you able to sign up for a six-month contract? How soon can you start, etc. For a shoppie, the main thing will be retail and money handling experience.
I am the editor, but I also speculate, ask questions and play devil's advocate. I reserve the right to change my mind.
They might ask you what qualities you have that are good for your position. How well do you handle stress? Do you speak other languages? How is your customer service? Just remember that you need to Exceed Guest satisfaction at all times, no matter what. You will be fine. The guest comes first....
