I just found out that my counterparts who work on NCL American Flag based ships receive more compensation in terms of salary versus us who does the same job on their Bahamas registered ship.
I'm so upset because I work a 70 hours week and they work less and I do.
Actually if you sit down and figure it out, they dont make that much more than you do. Their pay is based on getting paid twice a month for a 12 month periond. Add to that all of the US taxes they have to pay by working on the American fleet that you dont have to pay in the international fleet and the differences between the two shrink.
Salary is per company, not the job. Its sad, but as an american, this job sucks for salaries. Don't take the job for the money, otherwise you will be miserable.
