I would call them and ask them. I called and asked my senior to send me the information asap, because I had to be out of my apt by a certain day. They will most likely try to accomodate you the best way they can. Don't get nervous, but be ready to go within a few days of notice. Right now I live out of suitcases. I'm always ready to go.

lol welcome to the ship world! it doesn't matter where you go , all three lies I've worked on have been the same, and even now that I'm in management, it's still the same.

Now you understand why people with experience keep expressing how much it helps to be "flexible" if you really want a job. That is ship life, you never really know anything for sure until it happens, some people just can't live that way.

Every time I was hired, it was right on the spot during the initial interview. It was "can you start in 3 weeks?" and yes I usually got my paperwork at the last minute. One time, I was told I was hired for 6 weeks out, so I went on vacation for a week. When I got back my roommate said "the cruise line has been calling you, they want you to start in 2 weeks" on a different ship, different part of the world, different time than I had agreed to.
