Dear Carien, I am also 18 and looking for a job on cruise ships during my gap year - where are you from? I live in Pietermaritzburg in South Africa. I used to live in Zimbabwe until 2 years ago. PLease let me know if you get any helpful replies - I dont know how to set up an initial message on here!
Im just 17 and am hoping to work on a cruise ship....
I will be 18 next year and have heard there are jobs for this age, but how do we get them??? I've been searching on the interent and they all say you need to but a book in order to get the job!? I don't think this is required for a job, but where do I start?
Just read from *Lisa* that most ships require you to be 21 before they even consider recruitment. But If I have a few casual job experiences even though I am 19, and dont mind working in cabin cleaning or waitressing or anything really, what do you think my chances would be?????
18 is defintly too young. Have seen 20 y.o. working on board, although you must be 21 if you want to work with alcohol(at the bar). And remember you must have working experience.Speaking about making career- don't count on that :you must know that there are people who are working longer than you on board and they are awaiting for their promotion too, usually everting is already occupied.
