Default MALAY PRIDE

Has Anyone every heard of www.salsacruises.com ???? They are a subsidiary of Carnival, I believe, because when you go on their website, all they show are Carnival ships, along with a travel agent corp who make arrangements for Carnival ships. Thanks for the info in advance.

They are not a subsidiary of Carnival - and I believe this is a scam. They stole the logo from a travel web site. I saw a post on a message board I have never seen before where someone claims they bought a ticket for the ship but it "sailed" before they got to it and they need a refund.

Thanks Paul. I did receive another email from this guy, who could not provide any information about his line, nor the ports of call, but he wanted to meet me anyway. His name was Andrew Wong and the email of this imaginary " Salsa Cruise Intl" is Salsacruise@myway.com. I really want to prevent anyone from going over there, without knowing the dangers of what is out there. I did some research about this and there is really no way to stop these guys, but stealing company logo's and web addresses is wrong on all counts. Be safe everyone.

The guy is definitely a sleazeball. Look out people, there may be people trying to scam you. It is like this in any industry that people want to break into, people will take advantage of you.

Always check out anything from a company you have never heard of - look for web sites, do a Google on them, never pay money or travel anywhere before you are absolutely sure of what you are doing. Talk to them on the phone, get credentials, get contracts.

I want to warn everyone out there about this scam. This is a very sophisticated operation. The company claims to be Salsa Cruise Intl, based in Malaysia. No such company exists, and there is no ship called the Malay Pride.

Andrew Wong sent a woman a document that looked like a very official job offer (see below). It even has a seal and signature. It was a complete forgery. After she checked his credentials and found them to be fake, he had the gall to hit on her and ask for more pictures.

It is hard to say what he ultimately in mind for this person, but it is possible he would have enticed her to Malaysia and then foul play might have ensued. Fortunately, he was stupid enough to steal a logo from an existing web site whom we contacted. Of course they had never heard of him. But this person appears to using this fictitious cruise line to run scams on many people. He went to a lot of trouble to create letterhead and a stamp.

We found posts on the internet from people who had purchased tickets on this ship, only to be led to believe they had missed it when they arrived at the port.
