Hey just wondering if anyone can comment on the differences on how an Officer is treated on Carnival in compared to Royal Carib? Do they get the same benefits? Cabins? ect.
No not "jumping ship" just curious really, I hear lots of stories in the differences in the treatment between the 2 companies I just wanted to know the difference. I personnelly am onboard I/S so I guess I would want to know the comparison of the I/S managers.....
From what I've heard Carnival IS is treated poorly. I heard this from someone in IS on NCL. I think he mentioned that you don't have untimed internet access - is that true?
Can't help you as I'm not on ships. Actually I'm considering your position in the future once I get a degree. Are your from the US? How many stripes do you have?
I was I/S Manager with Carnival for a long time. You have internet, they use websense to block a lot of ****. They tell you they run reports, blah blah, I never got busted for anything though. Know some people that did. Pay sucks compared to NCL, 3k a month to start. Not many raises. Share a room for awhile. All in all it's ok, but rules have been getting much stricter over the years. E-mail me for any more questions...
wouldn't say Carnival treat you poorly.
I have been a purser for 3 years and love it.
I heard RCCL is a bit more strict.
I use the email in the office so its unlimitted for me :o) but for internet you have to buy a card $20, give you about 90mins I think...not really sure as I don't use it much.
rules are getting bad, but i believe CCL is a little more slacker with crew than other cruiselines.
Drinking BUddy- did you say you start at 3k a month with Carnival?? I beelive princess starts their IS with 2200 - 3k sounds really good to me! What about nbenefits such as visiting ports? Working hours? Family discounts? Which one's better for that?
