Who to send resume to RCCL-Cruise Staff

Anyone know who is in charge of reviewing RCCL's cruise staff resumes? I am applying as a DJ. Any information is greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Thanks for the info! But do you think e-mailing a resume will actually get it looked at? or shall i send it through the mail?

Re: Who to send resume to RCCL-Cruise Staff

I'd suggest the triple threat
regular mail, email and fax (if you can find the numbers) - then in a couple of weeks, do it again. (try calling the main switchboard and asking . . . )

Include
A brief cover letter
Resume
3 work-related references
and a snapshot of yourself

You need to keep your name current as when an opening happens, you want your close to the top of the stack.

Re: Re: Who to send resume to RCCL-Cruise Staff

So you say do as follows

Send your cover letter,resume, photo

then wait 2 weeks and call them to see if they have recieved my resume? or send everything again?
also, you dont suggust at the end of the resume saying "Refrences Avilable Upon Request" ? also, if you had anytime, would you even mind looking at my resume and giving me a few tips? That goes for anyone willing to help out on my resume.

Thanks again everybody!

Yeah - resend everything . . . . they get gobs of letters and emails. "that name is familiar . . . "

I'd also add the types of equipment you're familiar with. i.e. name the mixers, CD players, mic systems, lighting instruments and club lighting programs.

Put the DJ gig first! Also - triple point the job descriptions
-dj-ing events- blah blah
- on site equipment set up/repair/maintenance
- facilitating event via . . . .

Cruise DJ gigs are also half cruise staff duties, so you need to chat up your people skills, emcee abilities

And you probably don't want the Carnival reference if you're sending it to RCCL ;-)

I think I got calls because of my references - the people hiring actually knew or worked with them. And it speeds up the hiring process if they already have your references name/address/EMAIL! right there.

Do you have a passport?

Also helps to speak Spanish . . .

Re: Re: Who to send resume to RCCL-Cruise Staff

Thanks for the tips! I have the contact info for Carnival and am actually really good friends with 2 DJs who are currently working onboard 2 different ships. Should I use them as 2 of my refrences?

I do have a pasport which will be more than valid for the next 9 years. As for the spanish, I would concider myself an intermeediate spanish speaker however not fluent. I can get across what needs to be said and can understand much, but am far from fluent. Should I even put that info on my resume? Is it okay if my resume is 2 pages?

Thanks agin so so much for the help you are giving me~! I really appreciate it.

well, i obvisily did but both are pretty basic... Resume, Cover letter, Photo. my buddies have not really got into any details. That, and the fact i can only talk to them on sundays.

Re: Who to send resume to RCCL-Cruise Staff

??? as to references - how strong are your others? up to you . .

I'd list 'conversational' not 'fluent' Spanish. The big RCCL ships have 2 DJ's - one for the disco and one Latino. Most of the club DJ's seem to be bilingual these days . . .

You can make your "objective" and "summary of qualifications" areas your cover letter info. Regardless of the gig, someone should be able to look at your resume for about 10-15 seconds and know what they need . . .
