We alwasy cruise Carnival. We like to tip extra to our room steward and the waiters and bussers. Especially when we receive the superb service that we always get from them. But I want to know if the tips are all pooled. I heard that the pool deck bar waiters keep there own tips. How about everyone else.??? I like to leave tips every nite on my bedstand for the cabin stewards. But I dont think they need to share those extra tips.. jsut wondering.. I work for tips and I understand the concept of making your own wage. Sharing tips can be pulled right down by someone who is not putting forward the effort like your are doing. Call me nosey.. But it will depend how I tip extra if I know who is getting it all.. Thanks. Keep up the great work cArnival crew!
I'm NOT Carnival staff.. but have certainly discussed this with many of them.
The basic tips are pooled. If you tip over and above, they are apparently allowed to keep that.
However, if a guest removes their auto tips, and tip directly the staff are EXPECTED To turn those over to the pool.
And IF they don't turn in the "suggested amount" to the pool there are MANY questions asked.
Thanks Kuki, Thats what I was looking to find out. Now I know I can tip as I wish above and beyond and they dont have to split that tip. We always pay our tips with our cruise and then its all set. I would never think of taking back tips anyway. Or not tipping the recommended amounts. Like I said I think they are all worth so much more. They work very hard for us all to have the best vacation we can have.
