Default IS - Computer Operators Onboard!!

I've been lucky enough to have offers from Princess as well as Carnival. I was wondering if anyone working in these positions would be kind enough to post, or contact me?

I'm wondering what both are like, which one I should take. What are your hours like? What's the pay? Can family members cruise at a discount? Do YOU get to crusie free on your vacation? And most important- do you get to visit many ports?

Princess told me I would beworking 7 days a week, 8 hours- from 8-12 pm, then 3-7 pm. That kind of breaks up my day, so I don't think i'd get to visit anything. Am I wrong in this? What's carnival like? I'm most interested in travelling to Europe, but I guess I don't get to pick in either case

Any help would be appreciated- even from thos who aren't in the comptuer areas!

Hey Turbosnail!

What did Princess tell you? 2200 a month, correct? Did they give you hours?

With Princess you stand a much better chance of getting more exotic itineraries - to Europe, Tahiti, east/west coast, deep Caribbean. Carnival focusses heavily on Caribbean with some Alaska/Mexico and 1 ship in Europe.

However, Carnival is well-known for treating their crew-members well and mosyt people who work for them stay with them.

What Qualifications / Experience would you require to be a Computer Officer? What other IT/IS postitions are there generally aboard Cruise ships?
