I interviewed for a position with NCLA today. I am 37 and looking to make a change in my life. My main question is living with roommates and not having much privacy, how is life for a lesbian/gay crewmember?
Hello, I presently work with NCL on their International Flag ships and I must say that I have no problem be openly gay. NCL is very big on equality for all its team members. They have zero tolerance for any sort of discrimination. So I guess you will be fine on NCLA.
I used to work for NCLA and I must tell you that I was a little iffy about that situation too but because I'm straight. Truth be told, prior to the experience I was maybe even a hint 'homophobic'. It turns out that 80-85% of the staff on-board is gay. Even people like myself who had stereotypes formed of gays quickly changed. You will NOT be discriminated against at all so put your mind at ease. Perhaps the best thing I took from the experience was the tolerance for others that I learned. Just a couple days in and I was giving relationship advice to my gay roomates! It's amazing how it changes you.
