Default RN's and paramedics

Hi, do most cruise ships hire paramedics and RN's? Just curious, nothing im interested in just now, but my hubbys a paramedic and im and RN and we think in about 10 yrs we would want to try traveling jobs, (our last child will be in college in 7 yrs) and thought that cruise jobs might be a good choice for an assignment. but we would want to travel together.

Most cruise ships has a medical dept consisting of 1 or 2 doctors (depending on the size) and 2 or 3 nurses. I know only NCL and they hired doctors mostly from South Africa and nurses from canada and the Philippines. Paramedics are normally not onboard. At least not in that position.

Ageeing with our Mate!

Aftre 5-6 years, I've only seen one US citizen in the medical department - and he was using his dual citizenship in Belize. Most of our staff is Scandinavian or Canadian.

If you're serious - you might want to try researching NCLA (NCL's US flagged ships - staffed with mostly US people)

And in 10 years - who knows what the cruise industry will be doing!

did find a link by googling "medical staff on cruise ship" and got this fabulous link - says exactly what individual lines are looking for
