It is quite simple, the two of us want to see the world; not from the boat, but in between voyages. We hope to gain employment on the same ship with simultaneous contract dates. So I ask:
1. What are known policies regarding the hiring of family?
2. If allowed simultaneous employment, should we avoid applying for similiar positions?
3. If hired, would we be discouraged from sharing a cabin?
Any information provided will be of great assistance. Thank you.
You may be lucky enough to get on the same ship, but I think you'll have to just take what you can get and once on, try to get a transfer to the same ship.
If you can't get a transfer, you could both request the same ship for your next one.
I know, well they used to when I was on, they do try to keep married couples together, but not sure if that same policy goes with family members. That you will need to ask the cruise line or contracting company that is hiring you both.
