I would be very interested to hear from anyone who has worked on Princess Cruises with any general info which may be of use - experiences, what can be expected etc. More specifically I'd really like to hear from anyone who is / has worked as a computer officer on Princess or any other lines, with an indication of the work involved & a typical day on board.
Finally (although I know its a taboo subject on these boards), I was told by princess that the wage for a computer officer position would be $2250. Does this sound about right to anyone out there. Is princess known to be a particularly low paying cruiseline or is there not much in it? I have tried to find wage comparisions through various sites to get an idea & so as not to get ripped off but there is not much out there!
Any help / advice / recommendations or experiences gratefully accepted.
Many thanks
J
A computer manager position is not an officer position! The only true officers on a ship is the ones with a maritime license, e.g deck and engine officers.
"Computer Officer" Is Princess Cruises title for the role, not mine. Personally I couldn't care less what the job title is & I agree with you I would not be an "officer" in real terms. However you comment has not been helpful in anyway in answering my questions. If there is anyone out there who DOES have any knowledge with regards to my original questions it would be great to here from you.
Well,
I got the job, subject to medical & USA seamans visa. Big descision, bit nervous. Anybody else recently taken up work on a cruise ship. Any advice (gneral, or otherwsie?).
