Casino or Boutique? Torn!

Hi everyone,

I've had so much fun reading all the posts on this board. I'm interested in working and possibly a career working on cruiseships. I have lots of retail sales experience both in clothing/accessories and jewelry. I recently started a job working as a croupier in a casino. Blackjack and Texas holdem. Do I need other games?

I'm getting my resume together but I'm torn with which avenue to pursue. Boutique or Casino? I love both and I'm torn. Which in your opinion would be better for advancement? Pros and cons?

I have the Toronto contact for the boutique positions. I have found oceancasinojobs.com for the casino postings. Does anyone have another recruiter for the casino jobs?

Thank you for all the information you have provided. I've been doing a lot of research on this new venture and this site calms my nerves when I get overwhelmed.

Hi

I was hired as an onboard jeweller with Princess and I love it. We get a decent amount of port time and working in the jewellery shop is definitely a bit easier than the other shops.
I was hired by www.pmcmarine.com They were great to deal with and took care of everything. Make sure you apply for a jeweller position if you have that experience. The $$ is better than a regular shoppie.

That was great information. I love jewelry. I spoke to pmcmarine yesterday. They were so nice!!!! I asked if they also hired the casino staff, which they don't, but they advised me for those jobs with the individual cruiselines. Which is where I found a casino job posted. I'm still torn with which to purse but I guess I can apply for both and see where I get hired. I'm leaning towards casino because I do it now and it's a lot of fun! What kind of jewelry was it. Costume? or Precious stones?

I had a friend who worked for Princess in the spa and loved it! He wants to go back as an entertainer. Are you going to go on another contract?

İ just had an phone interwiev with harding brothers ,and i just want to know what is the next steps that i m going thrue.

and how much will all this going to cost me (do i pay all the expenses)

what about the working condition for the jewellery workers? is it easy to sell on board ,

İ m from turkey /Bodrum ,i ben working as a salesman over 20 years ,i m Graduated from HRD,i worked here in turkey in a toiristic arae so i know how to sell to a tourist.

Please your advise are verry importent for me ,take little time and explane me everything
