Thinking of Applying for Photography Job

I'm not a 20- or even a 30-something, but I am an experienced photographer thinking of applying to work for a cruise line job as a photographer to broaden my skills and to see something of the world. My questions are these:

1. If you're not of college age, is it a "need not apply"?

2. I like to keep fit, and wonder if in those few hours in a cruise that I'm not busy, is it possible to use the gym?

3. Is it possible to have email access through a personal laptop?

Any additional advice for a first-timer is appreciated.
