Please can someone give me some info about the C1/D visa . is it true that all crew have to apply for the C1/D visa even the ship is not stopping at US ports?? the ship that i m going to is not going to any US port.do i have to apply for the C1/D? thanks for any info .
Hi Ming,
Although not a legal requirement to have a C1/D to work on a cruise ship outside of American Waters, most cruise companies will require you to have one. This is so they have the option of moving you to a ship that may be cruising american waters at short notice should the need arise. Its always handy to have anyway as it lasts for 10 years & if you move companies / ships etc you will already be good to go!
