Librarian job on HAL
 

Over six months ago I applied for a Librarian position on HAL. I have a Masters in Information and Library Science. I also gave cruise ship tours on an excursion in the Turks and Caicos. I also have lots of retail experience. Any thoughts on why I have never heard anything? Is it because I am an American. I applied directly with Holland America. I know I need to update my application. Any help would be appreciated.

I applied with HAL, for the position of Librarian waaaay before I began my last contract, this was over a year ago.

I was contacted back and scheduled a phone interview. The interview appointment came and went and nobody called me. I sent an email seeking clarification, received no response. I called the office and the person I was supposed to interview with wouldn't take my call and never bothered to call me back :confused:

Very unprofessional. I was never given the chance to show them what I have to offer but I certainly learned about what HAL has to offer and I'm glad that the interview fell through. It would have been awful to be stuck at sea and then find out that they are such a crappy organisation, I'm lucky I found out when I did!

I had no idea this was a position with HAL. I am sorry you did not get replies, I worked for HAL in the 1990s and found them to be an excellent company to work for.

I'm not sure but the cruise director's staff handle the library.:confused:

That is what was being done on Princess . Since Princess and HAL

(both part of Carnival Corp) they might not hire library staff per se.
