Holland America - Experiences..?

Hi All,

I am keen to hear about anyones experiences of working for HAL in recent times. I am considering applying as an IT officer in the next 12 months or so & would be keen to hear from anyone who has worked for HAL what the overall experience is like?

I worked for HAL and they were the best company ever. They employ a lot of Indonesian and Filipino crewmembers - so the number of Amer-Euro staff members is a smaller community.

If you are American you will probably end up hanging out wioth the entertainment or pursers department.

I hear IT can be a fun (but trying) job because you get to meet everyone on the ship. Otherwise most crewmembers just stick to their own groups.

But the food, accomodations and healthcare are all first rate.

Just have to hope they require an IT offier sometime soon now :-)
