Royal Contracts - Offer Letters?
Quick question for anyone that may be able to help..
Just got offered an Environmental Officer position aboard a Royal Ship..it seems they don't send Offer Letters but rather just expect you to head down and start training? My only concern is I would rather have something in writing before I up and leave/put in my two weeks at my current job. Would hate to get down there and for whatever reason something doesn't work out and then I'm out of two jobs.
Anyone have any experience/suggestions with this?
Thanks in advance,
Are you training onboard or shoreside? To actually get on a ship, you need an official "Letter of Employment" or LOE (mailed or emailed) - that would have the name of the ship and join date on it. Did get a start date?
Not sure what the procedure is for training that would start shoreside.
PS - What ship?
Well I had to poke/prod for Salary/Benefit information which usually comes standard with any other company's employment terms..but I'd be going through Env 1 training shoreside.
From what I understand from other friends that are EO's, I'd be waiting til' a ship has a vacancy to join up and start training so no news on which ship yet.
But yea, I was told to ask and see which ship I'd be getting on if any at all because evidently you don't get paid until you step onboard.
