Default Storms at sea!

Hi guys,
So I was was wondering if anyone has experienced a storm at sea? I have the chance to work on a cruise ship but I've never been on a cruise before. My major fear is obviously storms at sea and rough weather. I've seen videos and horror stories but I'd like to hear any experiences you have. I really hope it's not as bad as its made out to be. Any help would be great

In most cases, the capt. will steer away from any bad weather, or miss a port, etc. While it does happen, the main concern of any capt. is to keep his passengers safe.

You have to keep in mind that some storms can be quite dangerous.

As you'll be a shoppie . . . when the time comes, you'll be more concerned with your liquor and perfume bottles getting smashed. And oh, it will happen . . .

Take the seasick pills you can get at the crew side of the medical area (before the waves start) - and a shot of angostura bitters in a bit of sprite/7-up will calm down your stomach. They say green apples and saltines help too - but the bitters/sprite work the best if you need to work.

You'll get used to it quick enough. I had captains make the choice to just barrel thru the rough weather as 'steering away' would get the ship to it's destination late. They will always make the best decision for the safety of everyone onboard though.
