possibility of changing the department

hi Everyone

I was wondering if there is a possibility of changing the department while being on ship..?i applied for ass weitres on carnival because there was no other interviews going on in my area but would like to work in boutiques or as a purser ( frony desk). does anybody know if there is possibility of doing the change after one contract in f&b to ratail or reception?

Hi Ania,
It is very possible to move between positions after completion of one or two contracts, however normally only within departments run by the Hotel (cruise line) such as reception, F&B, housekeeping etc. It’s not normally possible to move from Hotel to (for example) Retail & Spa positions as these are run by concessions (such as Harding Brothers (shops) & Steiner (Spa) – they employ their own staff directly so you would have to apply directly to them.
