Default Tattoo Policy

I am aware that this has been done already, but hear me out...
I have been shortlisted for a job going through Mermaid Cruises, so currently unaware, if at all, what cruise liner I will be on. I've been told it'll be leaving from either Puerto Rico or Miami.

I read through the documents they sent to me and they mentioned no tattoos. With no elaboration or further details.

I have a tattoo on the centre of the inside of my forearm, most awkward place when it comes to this subject unfortunately. It isn't offence, infact it is of my Grandad's war medal from the Malaysian war.

And obviously depending on the uniform, would I be able to just cover it up or will it be a straight no from them?

The position I have applied for is photographer, if this helps at all.
Any advice would be awesome, I'll be devastated if something like this could ruin it for me.

Thanks,
Ash

Be upfront with your hiring partner - if you can, maybe send a photo? Pretty much every cruiseline photog I've seen is wearing a polo-type shirt in the daytime.

Not every cruise line has this restriction - but it's best to be very truthful before you get onboard!!

My line (RCCL) doesn't' mind as long as it's not offensive. One of our captains has a SERIOUS forearm one that he's been redoing over the years!

Usually when it is not cleary visable (wearing a shirt and shorts) you might get away with it.. I would suggest carefull inquiring with your recruiter..
