Default Crew guests onboard

Can Carnival crew interact with friends or family on board if they are paid guests on a cruise? For example, if a girlfriend cruises to spend time with her boyfriend. I know the workload is insane, but can special permission be given for them to interact during his off time if there is a prior relationship?

Due to mega lawsuits, most all cruise lines will have a wavier/permission form for both parties to sign. You'll need to check with your B/F (?) to see what the procedure is. The crewmember, not the guest, is the one to initiate the process. For the line I used to work for, the form had to be signed by the crewmember, division & dept heads and then the staff captain would have final say on exactly what areas of the ship the crewmember could be in with the guest.
