first time poster here.I have been reading alot of helpful posts , getting ready for my second cruise (first was on Carnival) on Celebrity Century in Sept. We have a Sky Suite booked and cant wait.
We would like to do alot of breakfasts and lunches on the balcony , but also love dinning in style in the main dinning room . We have the late seating which should be fine.
Heres my questions..... How many nights do they offer buffets? and do the bufftets have upscale items on them , like lobster , crab legs or large shrimp? i wouldnt want to miss a great dinner in the dining room for mediocre food on the buffet. Are the bufftets only at midnight? And on a different subject should we be worried about hurricane weather being we are traveling in sept?
thanks for any help

Re: buffets
First, I wouldn't worry too much about a hurricane. The odds are against you having one the week you are sailing. If there is one however, your captain will sail around it, stopping at alternate ports if he has to. They are concerned about passenger comfort so you will book with them again. The seas may be rough, but you can get that any time of the year. just go prepared with the prescription patches or over-the-counter Bonine.
Now for the important! The Century will offer a alternate buffet to dinner in the dinning room during each meal. However, I wouldn't expect large shrimp, lobster, etc. Of course, you can always check out the buffet before you go to the dinning room and check out the dinning room menu prior to the meal to decide which one you prefer. When we cruised on the Millinium, some of the midnight buffets offered large shrimp and the grand buffet had lobster and other finer items. I think this was the final formal night of the cruise. (Maybe second to last night). Hope all my rambling helps out!

Re: buffets
The buffet is very casual and the food is good, but very similar to all you can eat restaurants. Chicken, Fish, salads, etc. The only thing I can remember that is cooked to order is eggs. I think you are thinking of the Captain's Buffet. That's a more upscale buffet. They have large shrimp, crab, etc. It's just one night and I think it is usually on the deck or in the main dining room.

I think you should stick to the dining room, captain's buffet and just try the regular buffet for breakfast. It's very similar to a buffet at a hotel.

We cruised in September to Mexico and had a terrible rain/storm/wind. Just got us a couple glasses of wine and watched it from the bar. Ship sailed right through it.
