We're going to cruise on the Fantasy in 4 days. I bought us the gift soda card which includes 4 drinks each. We're not big soda drinkers. Are there free drinks available, like juice and lemonade, or do we need to purchase the soda card to get any kind of drink?
All drinks except speciality coffees at the coffee/pastry shop, alcohol and soda are free. The lemonade on the Fantasy was quite good, as was the punch. Regular (free) coffee was not good and tea tasted instant.

The lemonade on Carnival is Minute Maid. Saw them pouring into the machine. It was very strong so I diluted it with water. They keep the juice in from Breakfast until it's lunch time. There are always 4 different beverages to choose from on the lido deck.
On this ship are the FREE drinks only on the LIDO deck or can you get them from any bar or waiter? Just curious I read somewhere that the free drinks are only on the lido and anything you get from the bar there is a charge for, is that correct for the Fantasy? What about at dinner, if you order a drink that cost do they ask you for your S&S right there or do they ask for it afterwards like a regular resturant when you pay your bill at the end?
The free drinks are only self service drinks such as they have on the Lido. The exception is the dining room where all the normal "free" drinks are available there as well. On the FANTASY, some drinks such as expresso are free at dinner. Any premium drink at dinner will be charged to your S&S card when ordered, not after dinner.
There is plenty to choose from in the free drink area.
