Default HOLIDAY FOOD

I was wondering how the food is on the Holiday ship & what they serve. Will be leaving out of Mobile on 10-21-04 1st time cruiser & am really looking forward to it. Really want to try some new foods & some good food.

Was on the Holiday in January out of N'awlins. I found the food to be good. I, however, am not a food snob and like almost everything. The food in the dining room was consistent, never incredible but always good to really good. The buffet, well, does college dorm food sound familar. It was okay, but I would try and eat most meals in the dining room.

I've cruised on the Holiday four times, and I really enjoy the food, the presentation, and the pampering in the dining room. I have all three meals a day in the dining room, and have only glanced at the Lido Deck buffet - (no, thank you) - and have enjoyed the pizza (particularly the goat cheese/mushroom pizza) as an aftn. snack.

So - what I'm saying is that your best bet for 'good' and 'different' food is in the dining room.

Breakfast - Eggs Benedict, strawberry crepes, Belgian waffles, eggs cooked to order, bacon, ham, etc. or cold or hot cereals. Lots of choices.

Lunch - Lighter menu, variety of salads with meat or seafood, soups, broiled fish, 1/2 lb. cheeseburger, sandwiches, etc.

Dinner - Some of the entrees offered are Beef Wellington, Chateaubriand, Chilean Sea Bass, , Shrimp, Chicken dishes, and many many more. You will have a nice selection of five to six entrees each evening, including lobster tail on the second night aboard (and/or prime rib). The appetizers are always good, as are the soups. The chilled strawberry bisque is especially good. Should there be nothing to your liking (altho I can't imagine this happening!) on the menu, you can always order a sirloin steak, baked chicken, baked potato any night. BUT, I'm sure you'll find something to tempt your tastebuds.

Desserts - Oooooh. Always many delectable selections for lunch and dinner. And...you can order as many as you want!

I'm a retired chef as well as Food & Beverage director for hotels......so I know if I am impressed by the food selections, others will be, too. ENJOY your holiday on the Holiday! Love that ship!!
