On RCCL Monarch in the Jade Room. I was suspisious as it was empty. I ordered a sushi assorted plate and got a pre-made dish made hours ago. Sushi is a very delicate dish and gets old fast. On top of that, it was served on a little plastic tray (god!) like on an airplane. Very low class. The tea cups too were plastic. No wonder the joint was empty. I'm no gormete, but I know the difference between plastic and stoneware. However, in RCCL defence, the food only mirrored the customers which was pretty low end.

That's too bad. I also hear there might be sushi offered on some Princess ships? Anyone know about this?

Generally, for best sushi, it has to be made on the spot for the nori (seaweed wrap) gets soggy. Otherwise it tastes like supermarket deli sushi. Sushi making on the spot is a critical item for that food. It is not being picky or finicky, just better tasting. Seafood is so very perishable. The Monarch of the Sea, the sushi chef was only assigned that job because he was Asian. He said he doesn't eat it.
