Food Trends on cruise ships? I don't know, maybe surcharges to enter better cafes on board. I will have none of that. As if there aren't good places to eat in non-paying areas onboard.
Maybe I am missing out, but I doubt it from my perspective.
I have the feeling in GENERAL that the staff on ANY cruise ship today are working to appease the paying customer. Without your knowing I think they are giving you what you expect, but no more.
Cruising in the 70's,80's was much different. You didn't have to be appeased, nor did you have to "expect", it was always done to your liking. Sorry to say, mass cruising has caused us to lose our identities. Any comments?
In my opinion Carnival delivers the best food afloat and is the most innovative. On a one week cruise you will find so many dining venues, very original cuisine and lots of it that's international.
By and large, the other cruise lines serve mass-market food that seems to be ok with most passengers. The greatest number of complaints I get are about Royal Caribbean's poor quality of food. Even NCL is doing a much bette job these days.
