Default Croatia Candied Figs

We went on an excursion to a farmhouse in Croatia in May and they served the most wonderful candied figs there. I don't eat fig preserves and these are nothing like the preserves. They reminded me of candied pecans that have a nice sugary dry coating. Does anyone have a recipe for these figs? I wish I had asked the farmhouse family how they were prepared. If anyone is taking this excursion, please, please find out and post it here.
Thanks

Hi I found this recipe on the internet at the site above.
Title: Candied Figs
Categories: Fruits, Candies, Croatian
Yield: 1 batch

Fresh green ripe figs
-- enough for your electric
-- fry pan (not overripe)
1 ts Soda
1 1/4 c Apple cider
3 c Sugar

Boil some water in a medium size pan and add 1 teaspoon soda. Pour this
over figs and let stand for about five minutes. This must cover the figs;
turn them to be sure. Drain and rinse figs, and place in the electric fry
pan. In a small pan put the vinegar and sugar and bring to a boil. Pour
this over the figs; cover and cook 1 hour at 250 F. Cool and let stand
overnight. The next day, cook 1 hour without the cover. Cool and let
stand overnight. Third day, cook 1 hour and cool. When cool, arrange the
figs on a cookie sheet. Let stand for 2 or 3 days, turning once or twice.
After they are dry, pack them between layers of waxed paper. Keep
refrigerated until all are eaten.

Thanks for going to the trouble. I also found the recipe. Can you believe it takes so long to make these? No wonder they are so good. I wish I could find a source to buy them on-line already prepared

I guess it is a good thing, though, that I haven't found them. I've lost 60 pounds this year and would probably pack it right back on.

Thanks for taking the time to find this. That was so sweet of you. I looked at the site, and while the figs they show pictured do not look like the ones we had in Croatia, I sent them an e-mail describing those to see if they might have them.
