Default Jackrabbit alacarte

I sometimes wonder why the cruise lines don't explore serving some exotic foods. One that strikes me as a possibility is jackrabbit. Recollections of fried jackrabbit, baked jackrabbit and jackrabbit served in a pie or stew are fond. it would be a relatively low cost meat substitute. Anybody else like jackrabbit on their menu.

Mass Market cruising is what most of the people on these cruise boards are comfortable with.
Mass Market means for the MASSES.
Most of those masses are from North America.
Most of those masses are uncomfortable with food that is not beef and potatoes.
It is not worth the effort or expense for mass market cruise lines to offer very many items that are not mass market friendly.

I don't think I would like "Jackrabbit" as an entree. I have eaten Jack Rabbit and it is a bit too gamy and tough for my liking. Jack Rabbit is basically wild rabbit.

Now domestic rabbit is dang good and can be prepared in a number of ways but, I believe, as Bruce said, the mass market won't go for it. It would be a nice addition to the menu.

I believe Bruce had posted a while ago that all the meat on European cruises had to be flown over from the U.S. because American's do not care for the taste of grass fed beef, which is predominant in Europe. Plus, the cost of beef in Europe probably makes it less expensive to fly it over from the U.S. than buy it in Europe. I grew up eating grass fed beef and I have to say that I prefer corn fed beef.
