Carnival's Past Guests Save Big Sale
I have been shopping around for my second cruise since I filed my tax return, and was having trouble finding anyone to go with me. I was afraid of having to pay a ludicrous single rate to go anytime soon. But just when my hopes all but evaporated, I received another "sale" email from Carnival today (the day after my tax return hit the bank, mind you) for "Past Guests Save Big" rates. So I checked it out, low and behold I found a really good deal on a single rate for a 5-day/2-stop leaving from Galveston in May. It was so low that I really stopped in my tracks, and being unable to pass it up, I booked it!
Yes it is the Triumph, but no - I cannot assume that it's because of the recent events. All the trips I had been looking at in May previously were upwards of $800-$1000. I booked this one for $658, which included $100 off and a two category upgrade. So I got an "interior" room with a porthole view on Riviera deck (not too shabby, really). It was so low compared to all the other rates I've seen that I even threw in the prepaid gratuities. This is way under budget for what I had planned and I am just ecstatic about returning to the newly renovated Triumph. And the way I look at it is that if Carnival extends the cancellations, they will honor the same deal they did previously and allow me to re-book for the same cheap rate with no blackout. So it's a win-win really. But I really don't think that will happen.
The "Save Big" rate is being offered everywhere, so if you're a Carnival VIFP - check your inbox (or just visit the site)! They said the sale ends tonight, but I bet we see more of these in a few weeks.
