Carnival Fantasy 12/23 - 12/27 to Bahamas. I'm I going to be wasting my time and luggage space to pack swim suits? Sorry but I'm not from Florida and I'm not sure what the climate is like at Christmas time. Thanks!
I would pack them to be safe but I went on the same ship at the exact same time a couple of years ago. The water in the Bahamas was cold and rough and they would not let anyone swim. I do think we were having a freak winter around that time though, so bring them along, better safe then sorry.
Oh no! Now I'm even MORE unsure! I guess I will pack them anyway...they don't take up THAT much room. Guess I was mostly wondering about the pools on the ship; I'd imagine Florida would be a bit nippy but I wasn't sure how warm it would be in the Bahamas area at that time of the year.
Thanks for your responses, I remember, half the clothes twice the money....
Depends. <VBG> I am from Florida and as far as I'm concerned, I would not bring my bathing suit. Understand that that's me because I am used to very warm weather. I have seen people from 'up north' running around swiming in the ocean while I am wearing a coat and shaking my head in April and May here. The temps in and around the bahamas should be in the low to mid 70's and same for the water. Much too cold for me, but again, I am a spoiled Floridian <G>

The water in the ship pools might be slightly cool, but the hottubs are plenty warm (and they have at least one inside in the spa).
Florida can be funny in the winter. It can be 85 and sunny or 65 and cloudy. If you are from the north (recent WI transplant to GA speaking) you will be fine in your swimsuit. I got a sunburn on my cruise last January.
I do this, and never have a wet swimsuit in the morning...
Lay a dry towel out on the floor. Spread your suit on it, wrap towel around it. Roll it up. Stand on the towel roll, walk on it, etc for a minute. Unwrap it and hang overnight.
