Default formal on 4 night cruise

Hi! I will be going on a 4 night cruise on the Carnival Fantasy. What is the dress for dinner? Do the passengers get as dressed up as on the longer cruises? What about the weather at end of February? I'll be coming from NY area where it will be cold. I really don't fell like bringing a winter coat if I don't need it? What do others do with the
weather changes? Thanks Gail

Hi Gayle,
No, you won't need your winter coat once you get down to the cruise, even in Feb, should be nice and warm. As for dressing for the formal nite, just pack a nice cocktail type dress and you should be fine.

i went on this same exact cruise! some people got really dressed up and others just wore short cocktail dresses. it doesnt really matter, because there were lots of mixes of dress so whatever you wear you will be fine.

Let me get this straight, if my husband wears a blue blazer and a tie with khakis, will he be ok for the formal night?

Hi Minnow,
Actually a dark suit or a tux is what most men wear on the "formal" nite. Women wear cocktail dresses or even long gowns, you pretty much see everything, just wear what looks nice and you feel good in :-)

Minnow ...

He will be fine, even if a bit underdressed. Wearing the jacket and tie meets the criteria. If it's what he's comfortable with, then go for it. Maybe he has a nice pair of gray flannels to go with that blazer? A bit dressier than khakis.

Me, I'd rather see ALL the men looking like penguins, the better for the ladies to show off their dresses They're just there as background, anyway !!!

What it's really about is respect for the dress code for the evening.

For what it's worth, my husband enjoys the tux evenings because he doesn't have to think about what he's going to wear and I don't have to tell him.

And he DOES look terrific.

Have a wonderful cruise !!!
