A couple of years back on Rhapsody of the Seas, cruising to Hawaii, there was one fellow who wore dungarees to dinner every night. On formal night he dressed them up with a red hankie hanging out of the back pocket.
Celebrity isn't as relaxed as some cruiselines. Carnival's rules for the casual nights was just no shorts or T-shirts. Lots of people had jeans on. I don't think Celebrity includes jeans as appropriate for the dining room. But I have yet to hear of anyone being turned away because of not meeting the dress code.
We're cruising the Infinity in May - I've tried to read everything I can about what to wear etc. From what I have read jeans are a no-no in the dining room - one review said they had them on the first night because that's what they traveled in and their luggage had not arrived. They said they were frowned upon by others and by staff to the point they felt uncomfortable and unwelcomed. I personally would not stand for such rudeness under their circumstances (they got to the ship late - 8p.m. due to flight problems) We are all looking so forward to our trip I just hope Infinity is not "stuffy" and pretentious.
I used to be the Jeans Queen until I realized I could pack 6 pairs of cotton pants, dockers or whatever, to 3 pair of jeans. The material in jeans is heavy, hold one pair of jeans and maybe two pairs of khaki's in your hands and see the difference. I know men don't like giving up the jeans routine but Dockers or similar are much nicer looking and they are still pants!!! Susan will be cruisin on the Summit in May
